Labor Day Weekend 2011 at Pointe West Galveston

There were grins and beaming faces at Pointe West Resort this Labor Day weekend. Families gathered to celebrate and create lasting memories. They heard “The Dennis Davis Band” play and the festive “Drums of the Pacific” with their steel guitars and native drums. Boys and girls line danced, ate snow cones, and had little time to wonder what was next.

There were blue jeans and windblown tresses and little girls in pink sundresses. Faces were painted for hula lessons and the limber did the Limbo. How low could they go?

Families played Bingo and relished in their Root Beer Floats or watched a Fire Show and built sand castles with motes. There were Sundaes and many things to do, like special crafts for kids, a DJ and Karaoke, a watermelon eating contest, and water balloon games.  Some lounged and watched by beaches sublime and some were seen crashing like surfers waiting to catch the next wave of fun.

We will remember long after September that this Labor Day was one of play.
